HM HE King Ceasor TG meets The UN Secretary-General HE Antonio Guterres in Yokohama, Japan during the 7th TICAD Conference taking place 28 -30 August 2019. TICAD focuses on international dialogue in Africa, built on the twin principles of African ownership and international partnership.
The UN Secretary-General Made significant points in his speech to the delegates including;
I see Africa as a dynamic continent of opportunity where winds of hope are blowing ever stronger,”
Technology and innovation are central to unleashing Africa’s vast potential for the shared vision of leaving no one behind,”
“lack of sufficient investment in education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics can hold back Africa’s growth and deprive its youth of opportunity”
Over twenty African leaders are participating in the seventh edition of the Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD) summit, which kicked off August 28 in Japan.
TICAD has been held in Japan except for TICADVI which was held in Africa. TICAD7 is taking place in Yokohama, Japan. It will end on Friday 30 August 2019.
